Year one of the Catalonia Global Institute

This month marks the first anniversary of the Catalonia Global Institute. Over the course of the year, the institute has focused on its mission to build a realistic Catalan vision of international affairs.
The institute’s work has included publishing more than thirty articles with the participation of Catalan and foreign authors, the organization of two online courses, three conferences, and the publication of three in-depth research policy reports. In addition, we have also established a regular collaboration with Nació Digital through the project “Informe Exterior.” Besides, the members of our team have contributed to a variety of media as part of our mission to disseminate analysis on global issues in Catalonia.
In our work, we have made an effort to put a Catalonia Global accent, striving to think about how Catalonia should face the different international issues. Due to the current political situation of Catalonia, this has proven challenging, most of the time leaving us space only to work only with hypothetical scenarios. However, we believe that thinking about Catalonia as a potential member of the international community is a crucial step towards making this a reality.
We want to thank all the people who have supported us during this first year, especially those who have helped us with economic funding and have ensured that ours can continue to be an independent entity that operates with private resources. In 2022 the Catalonia Global Institute will continue with its task of providing Catalonia with its own vision of global issues, and we encourage you to keep supporting us.
